I have received txt msgs from PrizeKingAlerts (000 75464) in my cell phone. This month, I found out that each msg cost me 5 dollars charged in my cell phone bill as Third Party Charges.
Called prizekingalert - they hung up on me when I said that it was a complain, then they did not get my calls again.
Called Rogers, my cell phone provider here in Canada, they told me that it is legal, that they have nothing to with that and that I entered in a contract with prizekingalerts when I accepted their msgss...
I never opened those msgs - until yesterday - because they looked very suspicious, looked like junk or virus... you name it. And, now they are saing that just because I receveid the msgs I am in a contract.
TO ME IT IS A VIOLATION OF MY CONSUMER RIGHTS IN SO MANY WAYS, to cite a few instances:
- IT WAS AN UNSOLICITED TXT MSG IN MY PRIVATE CELL PHONE,
- IT IS A INVASION OF MY PRIVACY,
- IT IS INVADING MY FINANCIAL INFORMATION SINCE THEY ARE BILLING MY CELL PHONE ACCOUNT WITHOUT MY CONSENT OR KNOWLEDGE,
- IT IS A VIOLATION OF MY TRUST IN MY CELL PHONE PROVIDER FOR ANY THIRD PARTY CAN CHARGE MY ACCOUNT AND THEY CAN NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT
I am looking for a lawyer - Consumer Rights - to discuss this matter further and also I am looking for more people that feel scammed by this prize king alerts or 00075464...
I was contact by the CWTA from Canada and learned about his Source Code that creates this kind of marketing opportunity, they say I entered in a contract with them... and because I did not send a STOP msg they can charge me now... IDO NOT THINK THAT I CAN ENTER INTO A CONTRACT JUST BY RECEIVING TXT MSGS....
